The sight screens on Graceville 2 oval were converted to dual-colour flip screens during the winter. An additional task to replace the white shadecloth on one of the screens will be completed soon. The work was undertaken by Gary Varidel of Midwestern Pty Ltd.
The upgrade makes it much easier to convert the screen colour between white ball and red ball games. Previously, this task was taking up to an hour to complete, so the ten seconds it now takes is much appreciated by our volunteers!
Unfortunately, it also means that our neighbours will no longer be able to enjoy the early morning spectacle of Dirk Tazelaar and Jon Dooley swinging around on ladders trying to drape black cloth over the screens before a white ball game!
