It was a mixed weekend for our senior men with 1st grade being convincingly beaten by Redlands by 4 wickets, but our second grade men secured a quarter finals birth with a win over Redlands.

1st grade batted first and were in early trouble with the loss of opener Arjun Nair for 12 and then fellow opener Snell shortly after for 13 to have wests 2-36. Number 3 Sam Truloff was then runout for 18 and Paulsen then went for a duck, wests were in big trouble at 4-51. A mini partnership with McGiffin and Sippel of 49 steadied things but Sippel was dismissed caught and bowled for 27. Sam Dennien provided a quick run a ball 19 but after his dismissal wests crumbled losing 4-12 to be all out for 143, with McGiffin 43 not out. Wests needed early wicket with Paddy Dooley getting Redlands opener McInerney for 23 and he had a second soon after bowling Heazlett for 41 to have Redlands 2-75. Wests then took 3 quick wickets but it wasnt enouhg with Redlands being for 148 in reply with test star Marnus Labuschagne 39 not out.

2nd grade secured a quarter finals spot after chasing down Redlands 207 run total with the loss of 6 wickets. Will Dooley was the destroyer snaring 5-36 from his 10 overs and Danny Young supported with 2-34 from 10 overs. Wests then ran down the total in the 46th over with Pat Collins 41, Ben Maynard 31 and Luke Davies 58 not out the major contributors. 2nd grade take on Souths at Souths in their quarter final this Sunday.

Lords Taverners made it 3 from 3 with a 6 wicket win over Valleys, wests bowled Valleys out for 130 with Pranshu Dave the pick of the bowlers with 4 -18. Dan Skipworth 33 and skipper Jack Sonter 38 not out ensured the tavs got over the line.

This weekend sees the start of all grades across the club playing!
