1st grade made a promising start on day 1 against Sandgate at GMP#1, electing to bat first after winning the toss. Wests openers Pat Collins and Isaiah Snell made it to lunch unscathed in what were tricky batting conditions with plenty of seam movement on offer for the bowlers. The pair put on 77 before Snell was LBW to leg spinner Abbey for 27. Number 3 Truloff joined Collins at the crease with Collins passing 50 but he was too removed LBW by Abbey for 70 with the score now 2-118. McGiffin came and went for a brisk 21 caught behind, then Dennien and the in-from Sippel fell in quick succession with the score now 5-190. Paddy Dooley then provided a solid partnership of 65 with Truloff who had passed 50. The second new ball bought about the wicket of Dooley for a solid 35 with the score now 6-255. Tom Whitney batted with Truloff until the last over over the day making 17 and Truloff ended the day 115 not out which was back to back centuries. Wests closed the day at 8-314.

2s scrapped hard with the ball against Sandgate with the gators 8-262 at the close of play, Luke Penn 3-35 and Dupinder Singh 2 – 42 were the main wicket takers.

3s had a solid day with the bat getting to 5 – 175 at the close of play with skipper Harry Borger crafting a well made 80 and youngster Jack Sonter 47 not out

5s had a great day with the ball knocking over Sandgate for 149, John Allcock 5 – 33 and Lachie Holmes 4 – 57 cleaned up the gators

6s had a great day after declaring at 8 – 203 with David Rebetzke 71 and Oliver James 59 the main players with the bat in hand. Sandgate are 3 – 31 with Nick Purser in the wickets once again with 2 – 6 off 7 overs and Luke Donaldson 1 – 10 off 4 overs.

Tavs fell to their first loss of the season at the hands of the gold coast being all out for 155 chasing 170. Isaac Barnes Cleary fought hard with the bat but ran out of partners to be 45 not out. Jake Kranen was in the wickets again with 3 – 25, Josh Lossberg 2 – 34 and Jack Matthews 2 – 33 the pick of the bowlers.
