Our 1st and 2nd grade senior men ended a rain affected t20 campaign with both teams missing out on semi finals. 1st grade only recorded the one victory and 2nd grade had all but 2 games washed out but didn’t record a victory in their matches played.

1st grade were unable to chase downs valleys 6 – 112 on Saturday ending up being all out for 111 with 1 ball remaining, wests bowlers did a fantastic job with Tom Whitney 2 -25 and Steve Paulsen 3 – 14 the pick of the bowlers. Wests made a diabolical start with both openers Steve Paulsen and Sam Truloff going for 1st ball ducks. Some late order hitting from Isaiah Snell 41 from 33 was the only shining light of the innings. The final wicket fell via a run out to see wests fall 2 runs short of victory with one ball remaining.

Sundays game against uni resulted in another disappointing batting performance with wests falling 12 runs short of Uni’s 8 – 125. Once again the bowlers did a great job for wests with skipper Paddy Dooley 2 – 15 from 4 overs and Steve Paulsen 2 – 10 off 4 overs the pick of the bowlers. Wests chase never got going in the chase with Sam Truloff 30 from 31 the only batter getting above 20. Josh Del Simone 17 from 14 and Paddy Dooley 13 not out off 10, but it wasnt enough with wests 7 for 113 at the end of the innings.

2nd grade on Saturday also went down to Valleys being unable to chase down Valleys 7 – 120 falling 16 runs short. Wests bowled well with Harry Weir 2 -23 from 4 overs and Luke Penn 2 – 29 from 4 the multiple wicket takers. Wests never got going with the bat with Max Carlyon 17 from 12 balls and Luke Penn 24 not out off 29 balls the only real contributors to be all out for 104.

2nd grade on Sunday had a rain shortened match with the match being a 15 over a side contest. Uni made 5 – 117 with Luke Penn 2 – 17 from 3 overs the pick of the bowlers. Wests batting again struggled only getting to 6 – 86 with Luke Davies 19 from 18 and Jack Sonter 16 not out from 17 the main batters in the runs.

3rd grade went down in a one day game against the gold coast at Bill Pippen Oval with wests being all out for 122 with Kye O’Sullivan 44 from 51 and Connor Bell 32 from 48 making a great start with the bat but then the order crumbled. Gold Coast chased down the total with the loss of 6 wickets with Toby Matthews off spin snaring 3 – 19 with Harry Borger, Luke Thompson and Danny Young all taking a wicket each.

All other matches were abandoned due to wet weather.
