Pat Collins

Head Coach

Pat is West’s current club captain and the captain of our First Grade Premier Men’s team. He is a long-serving member of the Wests club and has extensive experience in all aspects of the game both as a player and as a coach. In addition to his contribution to Wests as a club cricketer, Patrick has also played and coached in the UK, and is the Cricket Co-ordinator for St Joseph’s College Gregory Terrace. Pat is our lead coach for our Wests +Plus Winter Focus Squad, and has also run this advanced skills program for Wests in previous years.

Peter Steindl

Head Coach

Peter Steindl is a Wests Old boy. He is also a former International Coach with Scotland from 2007-2013 having represented Scotland himself in the English County competitions. Peter was part of the Scottish Cricket Team for the ICC World Cup in 1999. Peter has coached our Wests 2nd and 1st grade men’s teams to premierships in 2015/16 and 2016/17 respectively. Peter has been heading up our academy program alongside Pat Collins since its inception.

Will Dooley

Development Coach

Will has been a part of the club for a number of years and the Dooley name is well known around wests. Will currently plays 2nd and 3rd grade as a right arm fast bowler. Will has a great ability to build confidence in our development program players as well as ensuring they are learning the core skills of the game. Will is a great asset to the program.

Sam Truloff

Focus Academy Specialist Coach

Sam is a former Queensland Bulls and current Wests First Grade batsman. He has a long history of excellent contribution to Wests both as a player and as a club member, commencing with his stellar performances in the Lords Taverners competition and carrying through to the present as a key part of Wests First Grade team. Sam also has significant experience as a coach. He has coached at the Wests Winter Academy in previous years and continues to provide specialist advanced coaching for our Wests Plus Focus Squad. Sam is also about to complete his Level 2 Coaching accreditation to add to his academy and private coaching.

Blake Edwards

Development Academy Coach

Blake is a right arm fast bowler in our men's 1st grade team and is also a contracted player with the Queensland Bulls. Blake made his debut for the bulls in November 2019 with his debut being his only game to date. Blake will be sure to gain more representation in the coming season. Blake is very knowledgeable about the game and in particular fast bowling. He has a great ability to ensure all the players in the development program gain new skills as well as allowing the players to simply enjoy the game. You'll often here Blake having plenty of banter with the players.
