Our Paul Pink Shield team is looking to repeat history this season as they begin their defence of the Paul Pink Shield they won in 2018-19. It will be a tall task after a magnificent unbeaten run in the preliminary rounds last season which was capped by an emphatic win in the final to take the premiership.
This Premier Cricket competition this year features ten teams from premier clubs in the South-East Queensland region. It runs in December and January during the Christmas-New Year hiatus for women’s grade cricket. The comp features a number of players from women’s premier grade cricket cricket complemented by young up-and-coming players.
Games are played in T20 format. Many games are played at night; quite a few will be played at Wests’ Chelmer Sports Ground.
Wests’ indefatigable Wendy Varidel will be running the canteen for all of Wests home games at Chelmer Sport Ground, giving spectators and players multiple opportunities to sample Wests’ famous Beef Burgers!
Wests girl’s first two games will be played at Chelmer Sports Ground on December 15. Game 1 vs Valleys begins at 10am, and Game 2 vs Souths begins at 2:15pm.
