Wests’ coaching line-up locked in for 2020-21

Things are starting to take shape for Season 2020-21 with Wests’ coaching line-up for our premier cricket teams now confirmed.

Peter Steindl will continue as Director of Senior Cricket and will take over as men’s first grade coach from John Buchanan.  Peter will be supported in the management of men’s cricket by Luke Donaldson and by George Seaward for women’s cricket.

Peter Steindl returns to the first grade coaching role after an interlude coaching in Scotland and his return to Wests last season as Director of Senior Cricket.  He will be supported by a team of support coaches for our men’s premier cricket teams including Steve “Harry” Paulsen, Pat Collins and Hitshu Bachani.  

Women’s cricket will be coached by the team of by Ben Maddox (first grade) and George Seaward (second grade) with former first class cricketer Steve McGoffin coming into the team as assistant coach.  Former Wests women’s captain and first class cricketer Kirby Short will provide coaching support.

Our Lord’s Taverner’s U16 boys squad will be coached by the new joint team of David Lossberg and Dave Pamenter. George Seaward will continue his successful run of several years with our Paul Pink Shield U15 girls squad.

Peter Steindl will continue as head coach for our Wests +Plus Cricket Academy with the assistance of Patrick Collins, carrying on the great success of the academy’s programs in developing our young cricketers. Peter Frew will continue as the academy co-ordinator. They will be supported by a team of academy coaches, a number of whom are from the ranks of our current grade cricket players.

Training is expected to return for Wests grade cricketers and the Wests +Plus Academy in mid July 2020. Details of the current expectations regarding staring dates for training and the 2020-21 playing season can be found here.
