Harris Shield – Harriers vs Souths Fire

On Friday, the Harriers defeated the Fire by restricting them to 79 runs. There was a top scorer in the batting with 22 of 19. Holly Walker went for 2 for 6 off 4 with one maiden. The performance level from the Harriers was outstanding!
The batting got off to a rocky start but picked up in the middle overs. The Fire put up a challenge for the Westies but it wasn’t enough. Good luck next week girls!
Harris Shield – Ospreys vs UQ Blaze

On Friday 27th, West Ospreys took on UQ Blaze at Moggill Sports ground.
After losing the toss the Ospreys were sent in to field. There was great enthusiasm and high energy with the girls bowling out UQ Blaze in just 16 overs for a total of 26 runs. The Ospreys were very tight in the field with three catches including one amazing diving catch from Ishani. Nearly everyone took a wicket, with Sophie Martin taking 2 wickets in 3 balls and Penny Munday bowling 2 overs for 1 wicket and just 1 run.
The Ospreys went into bat chasing a total of 27 runs to win. The Westies ended up at 1/97 including a great opening partnership from Sophie Martin, 16 off 15 balls, and Lacey Kennedy, 9 off 15 balls.
The Ospreys are looking forward to their rematch against the Harriers next Sunday.
Harris Shield Development – Kestrels vs Souths Flame

On Friday evening the Kestrels took on Souths Flame. Souths batted first scoring 5/96 in their 20 overs. Davika Menon, Reah Chandran and Giselle Singer each took a wicket and there were also two run-outs.
Fielding continued to improve on past weeks. Kestrels then went into bat scoring 7/77 and unfortunately lost by 19 runs.
Stage 1 – Egrets – BSK Flamingos

The Egrets had a tough match fielding only 6 players.
Batting first BSK flamingoes posted a tough 145 runs to chase. Wickets were taken by Isabella (2) and one each for Akalroop, Zoe and Milly.
In return Egrets scored 55 with Kanushi (20) and Akalroop (9). Big thank you to Isabelle who came to watch as she was out with a Broken finger sustained in backyard fielding practice.
