Our Under 19 girls team with a strong win over the Gold Coast in their warm-up game among the canefields at the Pimpama Island Recreational Reserve.
Wests put on 9/171 in their 40 overs. Naiya Varidel and Claire Molloy got the girls off to a great start with Naiya smacking a quick 50 off 37 balls before retiring, and Claire contributing a solid 43 from 87 pills. Eloise Schabe and compiled 27 from 54 with steady support from the lower order.
Our bowlers cleaned up the Gold Coast batting in the 25th over for 77 runs with Sophie Whittaker 2/2(2) and Lily Bassingthwaighte 2/13(3) the leading wicket takers and Jess Bryant, Eloise Schabe and Naiya Varidel gabbing one each.
