In the last round of fixtures for 1st grade before christmas, our mens 1st grade are in a grind against Valleys in what proved to be a slow day on day one of their match. Wests finished the day on 3 – 234 with alrounder Steve McGiffin scoring an unbeaten century 104 not out and Josh Del Simone is 17 not out. McGiffin shared a partnership of 145 with the inform Sam Truloff who made 71 to guide wests out of early trouble of 2- 44. Wests still sit atop the 1st grade ladder and will be looking for early runs come saturday and will be pushing for 10 wickets to get the victory going into the second half of the season.
Unfortunately 2nd grades match at graceville was abandoned on day one due to a wet outfield, this match will now be a one day match this weekend.
