Brisbane Heat took out the WBBL 05 trophy in emphatic style with victory in the final over the Adelaide Strikers at AB Field in front of a sell-out crowd. The win gave the Heat back-to-back WBBL titles after they also defeated the Sydney Strikers in WBBL 04.
The Adelaide Strikers batted first and posted a very competitive 7/161 from their 20 overs, the Heat overtook their score with six wickets and 11 balls remaining.
The Heat was captained by Wests’ own Kirby Short, with great support from Wests players Grace Harris and Courtney Sippel. Congratulations on a huge win and a great campaign, girls.
Congratulations also to Westies Josie Dooley on a great run to the semi-finals with the Melbournes Renegades and Holly Ferling on a great campaign with the Melbourne Thunder.
