On Saturday, the Wests Hurricanes visited the Kenmore Krocodiles at Kenmore Hills. After winning the toss, Wests decided to bowl. Lead by some wonderfully accurate bowling and backed up with some enthusiastic fielding and 3 great runouts, the team had the home side 11/100 at change of innings. With every player either taking wickets while bowling, taking a catch or creating a run out, it was a great performance in the field.
In reply the Wests batsmen started cautiously against some tight bowling from Kenmore. The boys had worked very hard at training during the week, playing a lot straighter to good bowling and it paid off early in the run chase with the Hurricanes losing only 3 wickets in their first 10 overs. It set them up for a big effort in the last 10 overs of the game, which was well balanced at the drinks break with Wests 3/40. With every player scoring consistently after drinks the Hurricanes finished off the good work by scoring 3/81 off their last 10 overs to finish at 6/121.
A well deserved team win that could only be achieved with contributions from all 8 players on the day. Well done boys, let’s keep playing good team cricket and having lots of fun!
