Our junior club is fortunate enough to have the depth and strength of players to have 2 teams in most competitions. Therefore at least once a year in each comp we are excited to see a Wests V Wests game.

Last weekend in the MSW Flag competition Wests Bulldogs where up against Wests Wombats. Both teams have been performing well so far this year and as expected it was a hard fought match.

The Bulldogs batting first posting a solid 137 in their first innings with Oliver Whitehill score 29no. As the Wombats went out to bat, their innings didn’t get off to a great start losing wickets early until Matthew Bromley and Elliot Malone put together a great partnership. However with score board pressure and some amazing fielding from the Bulldogs who executed 4 run outs with direct hits from the boundary they fell short giving the Bulldogs a well earned win. A special mention to Alex Hesetine who toke 4/9 all bowled in a fantastic spell of bowling.

A great Saturday morning game and the future of Wests cricket looks promising.
