Incoming WSDCC President Greg Rowell addresses the crowd at the Wests 2018-19 season launch.

Big changes occurred at the top at the recent Wests AGM with Greg Rowell being elected President of the Western Suburbs District Cricket Club.

This is Greg’s second innings as club president.  He takes over from long-serving president Jon Dooley who steps down after eight years at the top. Jon will continue to serve on Wests committee.

In his closing comments as president, Jon noted the significant changes the club had experienced during his tenure and his belief that Wests is well positioned for the future. In accepting the role, Greg thanked Jon for the enormous effort he has put into leading the club to its current position and also for the significant contribution he continues to make at Queensland Cricket level to improve the position of the game in this state.

Greg was highly positive about the future plans for development of the club, including the consolidation and expansion of programs for our players and the prospect of further development of our facilities at Graceville, Chelmer and Dunlop Park.

Huge thanks go to Jon for a great run as Wests’ commander-in-chief. There have been a lot of changes for the better at the club during his time at the helm and he leaves his post with Wests in great shape to continue to go from strength to strength.
