This round saw the Stage 3 Intermediate Wests Chieftains take on St Peters at Stolz Oval. It has been a tough start to the season for the Chieftains and this week was no different. St Peters manage to get the win by 98 runs this week but that didn’t stop the Chieftains giving it their all.
The boys step up each and every week and this week saw Sam Slater and Lincoln Knight retire after battling for 28 plus balls each with Hunter Weeks top scoring. The boys were a lot more confident in themselves at the crease this week which is fantastic to see.
William Fanshawe had a day he won’t forget with his 1st Hat-Trick finishing with 3 for 16 runs, some of the best figures for the juniors this season so far. Well done to William for sticking it out and believing you could do it. Hudson Meyer was sharp in the field with a great catch square of the wicket.
The boys proved that they can do it and are improving each and every week, setting the bar for resilience within the junior ranks. Well done boys and special congratulations on your first hat-trick William. A fantastic effort by all.
