On Monday night, the Stage 3 girls rocked up to Ashgrove ready to take on Valley Blue in a fight to the end for Round 4 of the competition for the Kirby Short Cup. After losing the toss, the Westies went out to bowl.
The innings took off with Erin Moran sending down deadly pills accompanied by Jess Bryant who went for 5 runs off 2 overs. The opening pair were backed up by Emma Lockwood who in her 3 over spell knocked over the stumps taking 2 for 5. Sarah Kelso took to her runup and steamed in full pelt along with Kinjal Dani. The pair went for 19 runs in their joint 4 overs and were followed up by newcomer, Tanvi Aiyar, went for an astonishing 8 off 2 overs.
The Dogs then prepared for a win, chasing 108, with Naiya Varidel and Eloise Schabe taking the crease and batting through the innings, winning the game in the 11th over.
