Wet weather played havoc with 1st and 2nd grade over the weekend with both matches having the first week abandoned, so matches will now become one day fixtures this coming saturday.
3rd grade on the other hand had a comprehensive win over Souths at Graceville 2 in their 50 over fixture. Wests batted first with Charles Matthews (50 from 57) and Trent Kenny (47 off 71) along with Mikey Wilson (39 off 39) were the main contributors to wests total of 9 – 196. Wests then cleaned up Souths for 112 with Jack Sonter (3 – 10 off 4 overs) Nathan Kerr (2 wickets) Sam Arnott (2 wickets) and Cam Steindhardt (2 wickets) were the main destroyers with the ball.
4th grade also had a fantastic win over Souths, with Wests batting first and making a very competitive 184. Dan O’Donnell (39) Lachy Biggs (35 off 75) and Thomas Hastie (29) were the 3 key men in the total for wests and ensured that wests had something to defend. The bowlers then did the job knocking over Souths for 123 with Cam Stewart returning the very impressive figures of 5 – 18 off 8 overs and Dan O’Donnell picked up 2 – 38 off 5 overs.
6th grade had a weekend to forget after restricting souths to 8 – 140, wests were then steam rolled for just 44 in 22.1 overs.
All the best to all teams over the weekend for the last week before the Christmas break.
