Earthworks for the new cricket training facility at Chelmer Sports Ground is underway! The earthworks will accommodate the new 6-lane cricket nets, equipment shed and irrigation infrastructure.
The wet weather last week threw a spanner in the works for a few days after the site was stripped two weeks ago, but the contractor is now back on deck and dirt is going down. At this point, we’re on schedule to start using the new cricket training facilities by late October.
Significant modifications have also been completed within the existing main building which will allow players and patrons to access the toilet facilities without needing traipse through the private gym. This upgrade provides vastly improved amenity for both club users and gym patrons.
Design of the new change rooms is also in progress, and construction of that facility is scheduled to be completed in March 2024.
