The Chelmer Girls Cricket Challenge will be back for a second season from October 11 to November 22, 2019! We’re looking to reprise last season’s great showing by Wests girls in both the Stage 1 and Stage 2 competitions, so we’re putting out the call for all Wests junior girls to sign up for the comp!
Like last year, the Stage 2 comp (up to about 15 years old) will be played on turf under lights on Friday nights at Chelmer Sports Ground and other venues. The Stage 1 comp (up to about 11 years) may all be played on the Chelmer outfield each week (like last season), but we’re also looking at the option of playing these games on synthetic centre wickets at different grounds. All of the games are T20 format and are scheduled on Friday nights to enable girls to continue to play junior mixed cricket (Saturday) or Women’s Grade cricket (Sunday) if they wish to do so.
There’s more information about the comp on the Chelmer Girls Cricket Challenge page.
If your girls are already registered for the full season of junior cricket or women’s cricket, there is no additional registration fee to play in the Chelmer Girls Cricket Challenge… it’s already included in your rego.
If you’re interested in playing for Wests in the Chelmer Girls Cricket Challenge in either the Stage 1 or Stage 2 competitions this season, or you’d just like to find out more about playing girls cricket at Wests, please contact our Girls Cricket Co-oridnator, Mick Varidel at mick@kalhide.com.au.
