With the growing number of girls playing for Wests, we’re running a grading day especially for junior girl cricketers at Wests for the first time!

This grading will help us put you in the right team for the Chelmer Girls Cricket Challenge competitions and for junior cricket. The session will also be a practice and training session, so there will be plenty of opportunity to work on your skills and grab some advice about how to improve your game!

If you have any friends who’d like to have a go at cricket…invite them along! Everyone is welcome!

We have teams suitable for girls of all ages and levels of cricket skill, from the very young beginners to adult grade cricketers and everyone else in between. This season will see the addition of a Stage 3/U18 competition to the MSW Chelmer Girls Cricket Challenge, filling in the final link between junior and senior female cricketers and complementing our existing junior Stage 1 and Stage 2, Paul Pink Shield and women’s grade cricket teams.

The grading will also do double-duty as a trial for selection in Wests’ Paul Pink Shield Squad for 2020.

Not sure what Paul Pink Shield is about? It’s the Queensland Cricket Premier Cricket competition for U15 girls that’s played in December and January (when junior girls cricket and women’s second grade cricket are having a break). It’s the girl’s equivalent of the Lords Taverner’s competition.

Check out the details on our Paul Pink Shield web page.

If you can’t make it to this session due to other commitments, that’s no problem. You won’t miss out! Contact Wests’ girls cricket co-ordinator Mick Varidel at mick@kalhide.com.au or on 0421 617522 and we’ll work out how to get you playing!
