Wests first grade men’s team wound up the pre-season with a strong win over Wynnum-Manly at Graceville Memorial Park on Saturday August 31.
Wynnum Manly posted 181 off their fifty over with the loss of nine wickets. Paddy Dooley led the bowling with 3-27 off 8 overs and Steve McGiffin and Tom Whitney took two wickets apiece.
Wests reeled in Wynnum-Manly’s total in just under 31 overs, finishing with 5-186. Steve McGiffin top scored with 79no off 73 balls, with contributions of 32 off 37 by Jared Sippel and a quickfire 24 off 14 from opener B Smith.
Our men’s First Grade team plays their first game game against Sandgate-Redcliffe next Saturday September 7 away at Trevor Hohns Oval, and our Second Grade play Sandgate-Redcliffe at home at Graceville Memorial Park.
