Wests were at home to Souths on the weekend after the bye round. Wests lost the toss and were sent into field. Tight bowling early keep the run rate down and built pressure on the Souths top order, resulting in two early run outs. Some lose bowling through some of middle overs keep things moving for Souths, but the Wests lads were able to keep the final 10 overs very tight resulting in a target of 200 runs on a good pitch and fast outfield. Best bowling was Dupinder Singth 2 for 45 (9 overs), Toby Matthews 1 for 21 (10 overs) and Jacob Kumaru 1 for 35 (10 overs) as well as two run outs.

Wests batting unfortunately started slowly and 3 early wickets put pressure on the middle order. Wickets continued to fall regularly with only a handful of batsmen reaching double figures. Best batting was Lachie Cumming with 27 runs. Wests were bowled out 77 runs short of the target. We are looking for an improved batting performance next week when we meet Sangate away.
