A big weekend of cricket for our mens senior teams with the 2nd week of 2 day matches and 1st and 2nd grade t20’s getting underway on Sunday.

1st grade began the day in pursuit of sunny coast’s 302 at 2 – 9 at GMP1 and got off to the ideal start getting through the the 1st session unscathed with night watchmen Paddy Dooley and Sam Truloff puting on a 97 run partnership when Dooley was removed lbw just after lunch by Alecz Day for a patient 25 from 117 balls to leave wests 3 for 105 with Truloff being 70 not out at lunch. Allrounder Steve McGiffin then came to the crease and provided fantastic support in building a partnership with Truloff to ensure wests could chase the total in the last session. Truloff and McGiffin put on a century stand of 133 with Truloff bringing up his 2nd century in 3 bats for the season and McGiffin passed 50 for the 5th time this season across all forms. When McGiffin was removed caught at gully for 77 wests were 4 – 238. Ben Maynard then came to the crease with work to do and joined Truloff for a partnership of 65 to snatch wests first 2 day win of the season. Truloff finished 170 not out and Maynard 20 not out.
