Rain once again played a part in majority of matches over the weekend for our senior men’s teams.

1st grade are currently taking on Wynnum and at Wynnum and batted first but made a shaky start. Opener Brendan Smith was dismissed early for 4 and then soon after number 3 Sam Truloff was knocked over for 5 leaving wests 2 – 26. Opener Snell and alrounder McGiffin went about a mini rebuild sharing in a 42 run stand until Snell was dismissed right on the stroke of lunch with wests 3 – 68. Maynard and McGiffin resumed after the lunch break sharing in a 49 run partnership with McGiffin passing 50, but he was dismissed shortly after for 55 with the score on 128 and Maynard fell shortly after leaving skipper Pat Collins and Jared Sippel at the crease when rain stopped play. Wests will resume at 5/130.

2nd grade had a great day with the ball, knocking over wynnum for 98 when the rain stopped play with Sean Seaward 3/27, Darcy Murphy 4/27 the pick of the bowlers was well supported by quality catching.

3rd grade were 2 – 55 when rain halted play against Wynnum with Lachie Cumming 12 not out and Trent Kenny 20 not out looking for plenty of runs this coming weekend.

5th grade bowled against Wynnum and the Seagulls are 2 – 137 at stumps.

6th grade also bowled against Wynnum and Wynnum are 3 – 104 at the close of play with Nick Purser snaring 2 wickets.
