Toombul 89 def by Western Suburbs 5/91 at Peter Burge Oval
I won my first toss this season and elected to bowl. Aiden Watterson and Darcy Murphy took the new ball and bowled with energy and discipline – taking 3 and 2 wickets respectively. The spinners then came on through the middle and suffocated the Toombul middle order. Brendan Smith continued his good form in the field with another exceptional direct hit run out. Toombul were bowled out for 89 after 43 overs.
Isaiah Snell and Brendan Smith got us off to a flyer scoring 43 runs in the first 3 overs. However, the match got interesting when we lost 3 wickets for none making the score 5/72.
