Wests girls had a big Friday night for the Championship Round of the Chelmer Girls Cricket Challenge with both the Stage 2/3 Falcons and Harriers and the Stage 1 Avocets all had great wins. Stage 2/3 Harriers – Playoff vs UQ

by Scarlett Varidel

Wests Harriers claimed their spot in 3rd for the Chelmer Girls Cricket Challenge on Friday 29th November. We had Holly Walker as our top wicket taker with 4 wickets off 4 overs. Although we performed well, we might need to work on our play in the field. Well done girls!, it was a great way to finish off the tournament.

Editorial addition: Scarlett Varidel also scored an important 37no off 31 balls and was magnificently supported by Allegra Nearhos with 13no off 36 and two wickets in four overs!

Stage 1 Avocets

by Charles Black

Another good win last Friday vs Moggill.

Moggill batted first and were restricted to 5 – 72 with a strong bowling performance from the team.

Wests then made hard work chasing the total but with some handy contributions towards the end of innings from Georgia Black – 19, Caitlyn Mather- 13 and Arabella Simpson – 18 reached the target and finished at 4 – 93.
